WED - The Radio Edition for March 16, 2014

Join me Sunday, March 16th  at 7 pm on 101.5 UMFM for West End Dumplings - The Radio Edition. (Check here for the podcast once the show is done !)

This week my guest will be Kevin Nikkel, Director of On the Trail of the Far Fur Country , a film 96 years in the making ! Check out the trailer above and the upcoming world premiere at Cinematheque on March 23.

I'll also take a look at some events coming up this week in Manitoba history, as featured on my daily blog This Was Manitoba. This includes a look back at hockey player and furniture retailer Nick Hill, Dunrea's Daniel Lavoie who went from St. B. to the Paris stage; and the Avenue Building which, despite two major fires and being closed for a decade, managed to hang in there and is now a mixed-use residential block.

Also, James Hope Howard of Slurpees and Murder and Winnipeg Internet Pundits joins me at mission control for the last time. We'll do a little reminiscing about WIPS which has its final episode this Wednesday after a three-year run !

Play List:
Surge - Tanya Tagak Gillis
Blood - Tanya Tagak Gillis
Nick Hill - Andrew Neville and the Poor Choices
Je Voudrais Voir New York - Daniel Lavoie
Jours de plaine - Daniel Lavoie
