Tucked away on Burnell Street
Something I love about older parts of town is that you can be in the midst of a residential block then suddenly come across a gem of a commercial building.
The 101 year-old Hignell Printing Building on Burnell near Ellice actually started out as the Crescent Creamery Ice Cream plant. The adjoining stables for 150 horses are long gone. It's a remanant of Burnell Street's industrial past but thanks to its scale and glazed brick façade does not feel out of place.
Read more about the history of the building at my latest Winnipeg Downtown Places post.
