Advertising art from a 1962 Winnipeg Free Press

While doing research for my blogs I get to view thousands of ads from old newspapers. My favorites would have to be from about 1910 to1950. Modern enough that photos or other artwork was used regularly, yet old enough to give a glimpse into a previous era.

I am researching a relatively modern event and noticed a couple of interesting looking ads using cartoon figures on the same page. I thought I would go through the rest of the news section and see what others I could find.

So, here is a selection of artwork from the June 16, 1962 Winnipeg Free Press.

It was the week before the federal election. here are a couple of the election ads that I noticed that campaign directors nowadays would scoff at !
