Thanks to everyone who came out ! See below for the media coverage. You can see my four part series on the history of the bridge here. I will also be adding notes about the design of the bridge in the days to come.
Come join me on Sunday afternoon. I'll be giving a short presentation about the history of the Arlinton Bridge. Afterwards, it's up top to hear about the engineering behind it courtesy of the Winnipeg Architecture Foundation. You'll also get a nice view of the downtown skyline and the massive rail yards below.
When: Sunday, March 3, 2013 at 2 pm
Where: Meet at the north foot of the bridge
It's what I call a Random Act of Heritage, something I've wanted to do for a long time. A short, informal presentation to commemorate an event or site from Winnipeg's past.
Given that the Arlington Bridge is going to be in the headlines a lot in the next few months as the city figures out how, or if, they will replace it, I thought it would be a good place to start !
