Dust off those pink flamingos because 2012 is Transcona's Centenary !
Events don't get underway until later this year but a website has gone up and they are looking for memorable stories, taking pre-orders for their history book and have merchandise for sale.
Trivia: The name "Transcona" is a combination of Transcontinental and Strathcona ! The town was officially incorporated April 6, 1912.
