Farewell to 271 Princess Street
Demolition is underway at 271 - 273 Princess Street. The building opened in 1913 with Harry Meade's Mission and soup kitchen. It closed in 2010 with Ham 'n' Eggs Grill.
It will the staging area for the Peace Tower housing project being built across the street.
For a history of the building check out my earlier post.
If you do drive by, swing onto Main Street for a last look at the Stuart Machinery / Yellow Warehouse building, also in the process of demolition (though oddly stalled for a number of weeks). You can find a history of that building here.
