Winnipeg 1966: Canada's biggest gold heist turns 45

Where does the time go !

If you haven't already checked out today's This Was Manitoba post, it's the 45th anniversary of Canada's biggest gold heist.

It took place right here in Winnipeg by a Manitoba-grown Ken Leishman (a.k.a. The Flying Bandit or Gentleman Bandit).

I originally posted about him three years ago and it remains one of my most Googled subjects. Earlier this year I updated and expanded the post. Read about one of Canada's more daring and most beloved criminals in The Flying Bandit Revisited.
