I was interviewed today about the missing pole-mounted Christmas decorations that have been a fixture downtown since 1999. If you didn't know, the city replaced its heritage-style lamp posts with standard ones that do not have the attachments to hold the decorations.
According to the city, these are just temporary poles and in a couple of years they will replace them all again with ones that the decorations can go back up on.
I feel pretty confident in saying that we may have seen the end of these decorations.
