Last week the media was preoccupied with the laser pyramids over Portage and Main. Back in 1949, though, it was the effects of an atomic bomb.
This was published in the October 18, 1949 Winnipeg Tribune, just weeks after the Soviets tested their first atomic bomb. The issue "what if" was on everyone's mind.
