Orioles Community Centre history "show and tell"

I am working with a community oral history project called Voices of Daniel McIntyre/St. Matthews in partnership with the Oral History Centre at the University of Winnipeg.

In the months ahead the group will be hosting a number of events featuring different area landmarks. The purpose of these events is to bring together people to share their photos, memorabilia and stories so that they can be recorded for posterity.

This will be the first of what we hope to be a number of Orioles history events.

The first landmark is the former Orioles Community Centre on Burnell Street. It's one of the oldest community clubs in the city, though now technically the Valour Community Centre's Orioles site.

Please join us in exploring the rich history of the Orioles CC, one of our neighbourhood landmarks.

We will have some photos, newspaper articles, and memorabilia on display but we need your help ! Do you have pictures of yourself or your children playing at the Orioles Community Centre? Images of the building ? Memorabilia from past sports teams or clubs ?

Please bring them to share; we would love to see them and listen to your memories.
