Winnipeg's Cultural City Hall announces new home !
Winnipeg's Cultural City Hall has just announced the location of their new home: 123 Princess Street ! (Here's the full announcement.)
Winnipeg's Cultural City Hall, of course, is the new, co-op reincarnation of Aqua Books currently located in the Norris Block on Garry Street. The new location will boast a lot more entertainment, and a lot fewer books !
On March 3 Winnipeg's Cultural City Hall is hosting a "Hello 123" fundraiser at the Manitoba Theatre for Young People at the Forks featuring the likes of Fred Penner, the Royal Canadian Navy band, comedian Al Rae and more.
The building is also known as the Miller & Richards block (or the Western Elevator Lofts.) In today's Winnipeg Downtown Places post I take a look back at the history of the building.

Might be a better fit with the continued redevelopment of the Exchange and people actually living close by.
Good news. I agree with John that the Exchange could be a much better fit for Aqua... the block on Garry that it occupied before is not exactly prime real estate for retail since there is very little foot traffic during the day, and virtually none after hours.
So is Vixin Salon moving or closing altogether?
Vixin stays. They're doing a "Shannons" thing and taking the two basement units. Most of the space will be a performance area anyways.
274 Garry has been sold so, hopefully, it won't be a case of it languishing, boarded up or anything like that.
I wonder who bought 274 Garry. Please don't let it be Centre Venture.
