Local history and urban thoughts from a West End Winnipegger
Good news! But now you have me wondering...whatever happened to the City's bookmobile? I swear I remember seeing one circa 20 years ago or so...
Ah, wait until the weekend and all will be revealed ! (Though your recollection is correct, they lasted a lot longer that I had thought - I figured tehy were a relic of the 70s).
I remember the book mobile ! it was so cool! I was on burn ell then Arlington street from 1963-1972. loved the bus loved the books!
Thanks Anon - The bookmobile was cool ! I went to Shaughnessy Park and remember the excitement when it pulled into the parking lot !You might be interested in an oral history project the West End is putting together http://voicesofdmsm.blogspot.com/
