Former West End Library rises again !

West End Library

The former West End Library at 823 Ellice near Arlington is getting a second lease on life as a community resource centre ! Here is a look back at the history of the building.

  1. Good news! But now you have me wondering...whatever happened to the City's bookmobile? I swear I remember seeing one circa 20 years ago or so...

  2. Ah, wait until the weekend and all will be revealed ! (Though your recollection is correct, they lasted a lot longer that I had thought - I figured tehy were a relic of the 70s).

    it was so cool! I was on burn ell then Arlington street from 1963-1972. loved the bus loved the books!

  4. Thanks Anon - The bookmobile was cool ! I went to Shaughnessy Park and remember the excitement when it pulled into the parking lot !
