The Radio Edition: March 2, 2014

Oscars, schmoscars. There’s a packed episode of West End Dumplings – The Radio Edition tonight at 7 pm on 101.5 UMFM.

We have Larissa Peck talking about her book Decaf Coffee Dates: Stories and Insights from Winnipeg Seniors, Roger Currie will give his take on men’s hockey at the Olympics and James Hope Howard does a poetry reading.

As usual, I will have a rundown of significant events coming up next week in Manitoba History and will recap the winners of heritage Winnipeg’s 20th annual Heritage Preservation Awards.

In music, you’ll hear a bit of Elvis Costello, some 1919 jazz from the man considered to be Canada’s first jazz composer, plus a dancey farewell to Tessa Vanderhart, technical guru for the first three months of the show.

We might have to butter it up to squeeze it all into one hour !

Come back here after the show for related links, a play list and the podocast. For past episode guides.
