Another splash of colour on Broadway

363 Broadway 363 Broadway

Hot on the heels of the renovations to 363 Broadway that turned it from a patchwork of shades of bronze into something more modern and colourful, another Broadway building is getting a similar treatment.

287 Broadway

The former Sovereign Building at 287 Broadway was never a' looker'. It had the same bland, institutional-look that took over the street in the building boom of the late '50s and '60s.

For its multimillion dollar renovation that began a couple of years ago, owners also chose a splash of colour. It looks gun barrel grey in the cloud but more of a navy blue in the sunshine.

Could there be a pumpkin orange or Big Bird yellow surprise under wraps at the WCB Building ?!

  1. Judging by the archival photo in your post, Sovereign Life was a pretty elegant building when it was first built. Something horrendous clearly happened to it along the way.

This renovation doesn't bring it up to the level of its original look but it's far better than it was before the project got started. It definitely has a renewed mid-century modern vibe happening again!

  2. This is great, as if all of the building owners are working together to spruce up Broadway. As someone who leases office space, I've always wanted to be in that part of Broadway but found it always too drab.

This Avenue really has been ignored for too long. Thanks for sharing!

  3. How about fixing up buildings that people actually live in!

  4. The post is about an office building renovation on Broadway. I don't know why they didn't fix a residential building instead. Maybe they don't own a residential building.
