Update on Manitoba Legislature Renovations

Further to my post here about the permit for almost $2.5m in interior renovations for the Manitoba Legislature ...

Thanks to Dr. Jon Gerard, leader of the Manitoba Liberals, for providing this information: the two major projects are the replacement of the flooring in the basement and to replace the water pipes throughout much of the building - the current system being original to the building.

The province has a not-so-good reputation for maintaining the heritage buildings that it is responsible for so it's good to see that renovation work on this, the crown jewel, is continuing.

Holy Crap!

I did not realize the water pipes there were the originals! Good Golly, this explains so much about Manitoba politics these past 90 years!!! Clearly much of the absurd shenanigans we have witnessed it owing to brain impairment from lead poisoning!
